Set the Hourly Rate Compensation for Public Holidays, Non-working Days, and Rest Days

When you need to compensate the hourly-based employees for working during Public Holidays, non-working days, and rest days, you need to be specific in compensation rate to properly implement this company policy in Carbonate.

Take a look at this scenario: 

    • A’s monthly basic salary rate = $3000 
    • Working on public holiday to be = 2x of hourly rate (hourly rate = $15.73)  
    • Hours worked on public holiday = 2hrs
    • Compensation for working on a public holiday = 2hrs * 2x rate * $15.73 = $62.92 

Check the following requirements before setting it up and refer to its respective user guide.

A. Basic Salary.  

Set the Basic Salary to be Calculated Based on Logged Hours

B. Create the Public Holidays, non-working days, and rest days

Only the Admin or Managers with Leave Privileges may perform this setting. 

Step 1

On the dashboard, go to the Settings. Click on the Leave/Holiday tab.

Step 2. Work on Public Holiday

On the leave settings, scroll down to the Work on public holiday.  Enable the option “Give Compensation for work done on PH?”  by clicking on the Yes button.

Make the following set up.

A. Compensation type. Select the Salary compensation.

B. Calculation type. Tick the hourly rate.

C. Folds of per hour salary. Input the rate using numerical value.

D. Eligible for. Select whether it is for All employees or Labour type.  When you select Labour type, a filed box will appear so you can enumerate the applicable labour type .

 

 

Step 3. Work on Non-working Day

On the leave settings, scroll down to the Work on Non-working Day.  Enable the option “Give compensation for work done on Rest day?  by clicking on the Yes button.

Make the following set up.

A. Compensation type. Select the Salary compensation.

B. Calculation type. Tick the hourly rate.

C. Folds of per hour salary. Input the rate using numerical value.

D. Different rate for Off Day. Enable if applicable and add the rate.

E. Eligible for. Select whether it is for All employees or Labour type.  When you select Labour type, a filed box will appear so you can enumerate the applicable labour type .

 

 

Step 4. Work on Leave Day

On the leave settings, scroll down to the Work on public holiday.  Enable the option “If your employee will work on their leave day, will you add a compensatory leave?”  by clicking on the Yes button.

Make the following set up.

A. Compensation type. Select the Salary compensation.

B. Calculation type. Tick the hourly rate.

C. How many folds of per hour salary for every hour worked? Input the rate using numerical value.

D. Eligible for. Select whether it is for All employees or Labour type.  When you select Labour type, a filed box will appear so you can enumerate the applicable labour type .

 

 

Step 5.

Click Save.

Note the following:

  • Now, whatever compensation value the employee will get, it should be shown on the Compensation page in Attendance .
  • Whatever the compensation value is, it should be shown in the additional wages.
  • The compensation value should be shown in the payslip also as an additional wage.
    • I.E.  If a person is working 5-day from 9am-6pm. On Friday, he does OT from 6pm-2am the next day. The calculation should be from 6pm  to 12am o’clock he will get overtime compensation according to Friday and after 12am o’clock he will get the Overtime hourly pay according to Saturday.
